Title: Carnie

The amusement park and carnival fonts are common when searching for something fun and playful. I wanted to give this type an unexpected quality of outlines, so the user could choose what color to fill in. I wanted the user of the font to feel as if they are a part of the carnival experience back when carnivals where simple in stature. I created a typography guide showcasing the important quality of the letter forms. I wanted the user to feel what I felt when using the type I designed. The specimen poster I created is mimicking a silhouette of a ticket someone is receiving enter a carnival. To further the human aspect of the letterforms, I wanted to include someone riding on the carousel, as if saying to the audience, "come with me to experience this”.
